About Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement
Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) is millings and chunks of asphalt removed from existing road and parking surfaces during repaving or demolition. We process and grade the material on-site at our pit locations to produce a consistent, usable aggregate product.
RAP contains residual asphalt binder which activates under heat and traffic, causing the material to bind together over time. This self-cementing characteristic makes it particularly effective as a driveway surface — it compacts well and firms up with use.
At a significantly lower cost per ton than new crushed stone or gravel, reclaim is an economically and environmentally smart choice for unpaved surfaces, access roads, and areas that don't require DOT-spec materials.
Common Applications
- Residential and commercial driveway surfaces
- Farm and logging road construction
- Construction site access and haul roads
- Parking lot sub-base and surface layer
- Unpaved road maintenance and replenishment
